The Spitalfields Scene

Straddling the City of London and the urban mix that is Brick Lane, Spitalfields sits atop some of the capital's most vibrant commerce and entertainment.

Paying homage to its history as one of London's epicentre of fine fabrics, Spitalfields is a bijou gem that combines the crisp class of the City with the captivating creativity of contemporary Shoreditch.

Spitalfields Market is one of London's oldest markets, where you can find wonderful arts and crafts goods whilst sampling the culinary delights of cuisine as diverse as Galvin HOP, The Duck Truck, and Konditor & Cook.

And for the best in live music, The Rookery hosts a series of free weekend lunchtime concerts all through summer under the canopy in Bishops Square, so you don't have to worry about the fickle British weather!

Curated by the collective of musicians behind the Upstart Crow Festival (held this year on Sunday 2nd October), The Rookery provides a platform for undiscovered musicians and established pros performing a diverse and eclectic mix of music that reflects the sounds of modern-day London.

Performances take place between 12.00 pm and 2.00pm on Saturday 13th August, Sunday 21st August, Saturday 27th August, Sunday 11th September, and Saturday 17th September.
