MCM London Comic Con at the ExCel Centre
This weekend the serene skylines and vanquishing vistas of London’s docks give way to an altogether more frenetic scene, as 120,000 sci-fi fans, gamers, comic collectors, movie buffs and anime enthusiasts descend upon the Docklands.
MCN London Comic Con gets the party started this Thursday, and until Sunday, the ExCel Centre will play host to some of the most creative and colourful characters in the capital.
This celebration of comics and sci-fi culture has a wide range of activities and exhibits, as well as featuring panels, signings, and promotional appearances from leading lights of the sci-fi scene including Ophelia Lovibond, Naoyoshi Shiotani, Michael Landes, Takeshi Honda, Enver Gjokaj, and Howard Charles.
Comics have, in recent years, enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance and the Comic Village area brings together creators and fans of all styles and genres, with a dedicated stage hosting panels from some of the most famous names in the comic world to give you insights into their new creations.
If you are into gaming, you will surely want to mark Saturday 29th in your diary, as it marks the start of MCM eSports’ competitions for the newly-released Street Fighter V.
There will also be a vast selection of memorabilia on show, including comics, trading cards, and actions figures from the worlds of film, anime, manga, and TV, so if you are looking for an original and inventive way to spend your weekend, MCM London Comic Con is worth a visit.
